How did we choose our name?
When our Founder, Elijah Blake, was scrolling on social media one day, he saw there was a lack of care and respect being shown and given to one another. He witnessed people using social media to tear others down, laughing at other’s misfortunes, and losing sensitivity to highly alarming things that would be posted to social media. Blake was inspired to then hit the studio and transcribe these thoughts into song lyrics which became the song ‘Is Everybody Ok?’ from the album ‘elijah.’ Blake describes the meaning behind the song as a check-in for people to sit and reflect on their wellbeing given the state of their personal and interpersonal problems. Speaking with Blake about his creation and how important the purpose of the song was; Paul Brown (President), suggested it would be a great idea to start a nonprofit organization with the name to create more awareness surrounding mental health. This was the beginning of our journey!
